Hey everybody. Busy week this week. Seems like 24 hours are just not enough some days. Let's talk about unappreciative individuals real quick. I'm not an "official" worker on the building I work on. I'm just trying to help these guys out. No one else wants to del with them. Not even the officers. There are some really messed up guys back there. Some are back there for stabbing their cellmates, assaulting officers, weapons, drugs, you name it. But they have nobody to give them the simple things they need like toilet paper, soap, water, and food. It's because they will break out of their cells and take all the stuff from you if you let them. They will even assault you for an extra roll of toilet paper. I've been back there trying to keep them from having to do that. I'll sneak them extra food or extra hygiene. One guy let me know it doesn't matter how much I do, it's not enough. I if I don't do more when they ask, I am worthless to them. He even threated to kick my "old a$$." My kindness for my fellow inmate is overlooked by selfishness. Most of them don't appreciate sh#% you do, that's why eight building is called "the island." How do I handle this situation without violence or giving up on the good people back here?

In all things, be grateful. People are going to be people and you can't change that. I often times have to remind myself of that. When you're able to see people doing things that you used to do, and realize it's so dumb how they're acting, that's growth. Continue to be lead by example. You never know who's watching. 😉
