Imagine getting off work, come out of the shower, and there's someone hanging by a sheet? That actually happened yesterday. This Hispanic guy has a sheet tied to 2 row's rail which is about 15 feet in the air. His toes are barely touching the floor. It was supposed to be a trick to get moved out of the section. But it went totally wrong. This was the plan. Stand on the trash can, tie the sheet to the rail and wait for the officers to come get him. Someone yelled, "Here they come" and he stepped off. The trash can flipped over. Mind you, the officers weren't really coming. But now, he's actually hanging and turning blue. The officers finally get there maybe 5 or 10 minutes later. They cut him down and he was taken out on a stretcher. These are the things we go through on a daily basis. Somebody pray for us.

This is so sad to hear. Although this is prison, regardless this should not happen. I’m not understanding why it took 5-10 mins! What is the guard to intimate ratio? I am sure they have staffing issues, but that is no excuse. The state should be recruiting outside of the state and pay for relocation and staff the units. More families of intimates need to speak up and not be afraid. Regardless of being in prison you are human. Stay safe!
Praying for him and his family. Stay Strong its crazy how this is becoming more and more common in each facility.
